Proposals move fast—and the pressure to deliver never really lets up. But there’s a simple way to stay on top of the chaos: a checklist.
Here’s how to create and use a 5-step checklist that keeps your process on track and your team aligned.
1. Identify Requirements
Dig into the RFP to understand exactly what the client is asking for. Highlight must-haves, page limits, and evaluation criteria.
2. Assign Tasks
Avoid confusion and double work by assigning each section or task to a specific person, with clear expectations.
3. Set Milestones
Break the work into manageable steps with internal deadlines. This keeps the team moving forward and avoids last-minute stress.
4. Review & Revise
Plan ahead for multiple rounds of edits—both for content and compliance. Don’t let quality suffer at the finish line.
5. Final Check
Do a thorough run-through to make sure every section is present, polished, and clearly connected to the client’s goals.

A checklist may sound simple, but the structure it brings can make a huge difference in the pace, clarity, and success of your proposals.
